....cntd

but i dont think i am wrong

on dreams

what do you do when all your dreams come true at the same time? or at least the possibility of them all coming true becomes much closer.

for the past 3 or 4 years i've been floating somewhat aimlessly expecting something great to happen and to be honest just been making a mess and disaster about most things i've touched. suddenly everything has changed.

there are a number of things ive always wanted.

1, to have my own company
2, to have my own company doing what i love with people i love
3, to take on the world and at least not lose
4, to live life only by my rules and not accept the 'thats not how you do that' way of living
5, to feel i'm making a difference to at least one person in a positive way

6, to have somebody in my life that would make the other dreams reduntant

well here's the problem
i have 1 & 2 and i try to do 4
recently there's been developments that make 3 & 5 a possibility

now 6 is a bit of a quandry
it's the big dream, one of those that doesn't really ever happen
except for one small problem

i've got 6 too
or at least by every measurable method i can think of i have

having 6 means that the rest of the dreams can wait
and with any luck i'll get around to them another time

but still
having 6 is big
what if i'm wrong

weather report

its not raining here today
its sunning and quite mild
a lovely spring day

it doesn't change my mind though

baby steps

a bit behind on the posting so a bit of filling in is needed.

over the weekend the boy and the girl spent a good bit of time discussing adventures
they are both now very excited.

got a few guide books to work on the destination research
so far we have: rough guide first time around asia
rough guide first time around south america
rough guide first time around the world
lonely planet east africa guide
the backpackers bible
lonely planet india

assorted travelogues by the usual suspects

result of all this research.........
........
....
.we want to go everywhere

back to square one

todays idea is maybe to head for thailand and teach english and then use it as a base to spend two or 3 months at a time visiting all the other parts of asia but returning 'home' to thailand each time.

i dont know all the ideas sound like good ones at the moment.

dirty

there's a city i know where every day the average person is confronted with a quite sizeable minority or what one could call 'the great unwashed'

dirty and in unwashed clothes they batter their way through the streets of this city, pushing a buggy with one hand, a cigarrette hanging from the mouth and a filthy food stained minor or two trailing behind by the wrist.

just as they pass you they decide to raise their decibel emissions to environmentaly unsound levels to becon to a person of the same genus across the street in the most profane language they can muster.

i dont object to people that are poor and less fortunate then me but the thing is that water is free and it takes even less effort to have dignity than it dos to wash.

this is my city, my home

welcome to dublin

i can't wait to wash the dirt from my feet.

on office day dreams

it's sunny outside
im inside

its too warm inside
its cold outside

i can see into the park
i can't go into the park

there's a plane overhead
i'm not on it

everybody i meet on my lunch break speaks my language

i understand the politics & interests of the people i encounter

all the above will be remedied

this weeks anthem

jealousy, turning saints into the sea
swimming through sick lullabies
choking on your alibi
but it's just the price i pay
destiny is calling me
open up my eager eyes
cause i'm mr brightside
(mr brightside - the killers)

not for any particular reason but this is the soudtrack in my head this week

i wonder what the soundtrack for seville or new delhi or any other place will be?

todays question
to bring my guitar or leave it behind

on the plus side
music is good company
entertainment
might be able to busk and earn a few quid
i'll look cool

on the minus side
im not very good at the guitar
it's awkward to carry

this requires thought
and practise
